Marie-Laure Maze
An Artist Between Technical Mastery and Sensory Exploration
I was born in 1967 in Sarlat, in the heart of Périgord. After a scientific background and a career in engineering and computer science, I decided in 2010 to fully dedicate myself to art, thus following my true passion.

From the very beginning of my artistic journey, I have been fascinated by material and texture. I have experimented with various materials such as plaster and tissue paper, developing a unique visual language based on the layering of elements and the richness of surfaces. Each composition reflects my ongoing research into light, depth, and the interplay of opacity and transparency.

In 2023, I took a new artistic turn by integrating epoxy resin into my work. This medium allows me to explore new aesthetic dimensions, playing with contrasts between matte and glossy finishes while enhancing depth effects. This evolution is a natural continuation of my artistic approach, where the balance between control and spontaneity remains essential.
My universe oscillates between abstraction and figuration. Inspired by nature and reimagined landscapes, I strive to create works that evoke vibrant horizons, magical forests, and enigmatic vegetal worlds. My approach is both instinctive and methodical, reflecting a duality between gestural freedom and precision of execution.

My work has been exhibited in numerous art fairs and salons, including art3f in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Zurich and Bruxelles as well as at the Pop-Up Gallery of Espace 22 in Monaco.
My pieces have captivated a diverse audience, from discerning art lovers to collectors seeking unique works.

Based in Châteauneuf-Grasse, I continue to explore materials and the interactions between color, light, and texture. My goal is to create works that draw the eye, awaken the senses, and invite a contemplative immersion into my ever-evolving artistic universe.
